Thus, each week in Law and Politics classes (fortnightly in Citizenship classes), students will have an essay/mini-mock exam to write in class. Essay titles are/will be shown in advance via the Scheme of Work and students can plan in advance and use their plans while writing their answers. Students will NOT be able to use the textbook, or read and precis notes, in these mini-mock exams. A major advantage of this approach is that the essay/exam will relate to the work that you will have done in the previous weeks lessons. So, this will help establish an ongoing revision program for all Laws students.
Any student who misses these classes (due to illness or otherwise) will be required to do the essay work, and some 'additional work', for the next Laws lesson they attend.
There will also be a once-weekly 'Developing Writing Skills' class delivered by Mr Bunce (Mondays at 12 noon). If you want to improve your essay writing, then see Mr Bunce or Dr Jepson about joining this class. You may also be interested in visiting the Library of 'essay writing' resource materials.
