People often claim that they have the right to dress as they like - i.e. they have a right to freedom of expression. However, isn't it the case that people face social pressures that influence their dress? For example, teenagers wear 'skinny jeans' and 'hooded tops' to fit in with the crowd. Likewise, Muslim women wear the veil to fit in with the norms of their religion. In office jobs, men wear suits to fit in with the expected norms of their career.
